I was thinking that I might have come up with this idea because it was Dr. Suess’ birthday or something. However, it is actually March 2nd. I do not know what made me think of it, but once I did, I wanted to include as many references as I could.
I saw an interview with Harrison Ford the other day and it reminded me of him back in the days of the original Star Wars movie. Remembering that took me back to having seen the movie and being totally blown away by it. On the way home, I drove my car as if it was the Millenium Falcon.
I was thinking about audio books the other day and thought how boring it must be to listen to the Bible and hear the dry (to me, at least) details from Leviticus and Numbers. So, that led to a thought about falling asleep while driving.
To understand the comic, you must be familiar with the story in Numbers 21 about God making a donkey talk back to Balaam. So, I could also have said this was about a descendant of Mr. Ed, but I wanted to reference him in the comic.
This comic started with the idea of talking about blue flu, but somehow, the main theme morphed into the fact that we record so many shows onto our DVR but still see and hear spoilers before we watch the program.
Maybe the Davy and Goliath comic from the other day may me think of King David, which can then lead to the Psalms that he wrote. Whatever made me think of him, I wondered about other words that could start with the sound of ‘s’ like the book of Psalms in the Bible.
I think I saw someone else’s comic about punctuation and decided to talk about how different punctuation marks might comment on a scene.
